Jenne writes – I love learning about Ayurveda it makes so much sense and I have no idea why I never knew about it before!
I have a question…I fasted for the first time the other day and it was not hard at all but now I feel like I am craving food more because I fasted. I know it is probably just because I am thinking that but how do you recommend going from eating 3 meals a day to 2? I eat pretty healthy, but I do have my treats, I would like to eat less. Basically, what is the best way to get started to eat the ayurvedic way?
Thank you so much I absolutely love learning about this and you are an inspiration!
Yogi Cameron: If you fast make sure you are not thinking of food or the time when you will be able to eat again. Be conscious in your fasting so you experience the full cleaning and healing effects it has on the mind and body. The Ayurvedic principals of eating are mostly about.
1-Time of eating
2-Combinations of food consumed
3-Amounts of food eaten
5-How many times one eats during the day.
These together with which type of body and mind type you are (this is what the Ayurvedic test is for) will determine the answers to the points above. If the body is heavy, we need to follow a lighter diet. If the body is more hot or cold you need to follow a diet and practices for the opposite affect to take place and the body return to a natural state. One’s perception and intuition needs to grow and become clear. Reading about it only gives us knowledge but then we need to also experience it all through action.
